Ryan L. Broedlin, Esq.Ryan Broedlin focuses his practice on Estate Planning and Elder Law, advising clients on methods of wealth preservation and transfer, long-term care planning, eligibility and applications for Medicaid benefits, administration of trusts and estates, and issues related to long-term care insurance policies. Ryan also represents businesses and their owners in a broad range of corporate matters from startup to exit-planning including, entity formation, operating agreements, proper corporate governance, simple and complex contract drafting and negotiation, and stock/asset sales.
Ryan joined The Murray Firm after 10+ years of practice focused on corporate governance and complex commercial transaction and disputes. Most recently, Ryan served as Senior Corporate Counsel at a specialty insurance carrier with annual revenues of almost $1,000,000,000. In that role, he was responsible for drafting and negotiating hundreds of commercial contracts each year, including all of the company’s revenue-generating contracts, information technology contracts, and real estate contracts. Ryan's other key responsibilities included: managing multi-million dollar complex litigations, playing a critical role in divestiture of the company’s UK business, preparing for board of director meetings and managing investor relations, and closing complex commercial credit facilities. Though, he enjoyed this work and gained critical experience during this time, Ryan always felt something important was lacking from his practice: the opportunity to help people and help individuals tackle complex issues on a day-to-day basis. Filling that gap led Ryan to the Murray Firm where he leverages his substantial transactional experience to help smoothly guide clients through a variety of estate planning, elder law, and corporate matters. Ryan is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and New York. He earned his undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University in 2006 with a major in Political Science and his Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law – Newark in 2009, where he was a Dean’s Merit Scholar. Ryan is a VA Accredited Attorney and is also a member of the New York State Bar Association - Elder Law and Special Needs Section. Ryan dedicates his downtime to spending time with his wife, Abby, and their two sons, Henry and Max. Together, they enjoy anything that gets them outside, including skiing, running, hiking, and enjoying the family garden. Ryan has also volunteered at local community gardens and provides educational seminars on issues of Elder Law and Estate Planning in nearby communities. |
